Cisco Fabric Services provides several distribution scopes that determine which devices receive configuration information. A logical scope limits distribution according to a logical boundary, such as a VSAN. This allows an application’s configuration to be distributed only to switches participating in that particular VSAN instead of to every physically connected switch in the fabric. Therefore, logical scope satisfies the requirement to distribute the NTP configuration only to members of the specified VSAN. Physical scope distributes information throughout the physically connected CFS region and does not provide the required VSAN-based restriction. Uncoordinated distribution describes how changes may be propagated without a coordinated commit process; it does not define the required recipient boundary. “Coordinated scope” is not the appropriate scope selection for isolating distribution to the membership of a specific VSAN.
