To restore the health of the vSAN cluster with minimum risk, the vSAN administrator must remove the devices from the storage pool, replace the storage devices, and claim the new devices in vSAN. This is because removing and replacing devices in a storage pool does not affect the availability or performance of the objects stored in that pool.
