What is a parametric type in a Catalog?

In SAP Ariba Catalogs, aparametric typeis a set ofstructured attributesoffered to users asselectable optionswhen creating or searching for catalog items. It supportsconfigurable or partial items, allowing users to select from predefined attribute values such as size, color, material, etc.

It does not define classifications or serve as a visibility restriction; those are handled through separate catalog hierarchy and filter configurations.
