Snowflake Secure Data Sharing does not copy the shared data into each consumer’s account. The provider continues to pay for the storage of the shared data.

When a consumer queries the shared data, the query runs using a virtual warehouse in the consumer’s account. The consumer therefore pays the compute cost generated by that virtual warehouse.

The number of subscribers does not directly determine an individual subscriber’s compute cost. Likewise, the provider’s warehouse is not used to execute consumer queries against shared data.
