What architecture is adopted for HyperMetro data centers using OceanStor Dorado?

OceanStor Dorado HyperMetro adopts a gateway-free active-active architecture. In this design, two storage systems at different sites both provide read and write services to hosts at the same time. Because there is no external virtualization gateway in the data path, the architecture avoids extra latency, additional failure points, and gateway performance bottlenecks. Hosts can access the same logical storage resources through both sites, and quorum mechanisms help determine the surviving site if a fault occurs. This design supports high availability, load balancing, and zero service interruption for mission-critical applications when properly deployed with multipathing and redundancy. Gateway-based designs depend on additional virtualization appliances, while active-passive designs do not allow both sites to provide services simultaneously. Therefore, the correct architecture is gateway-free active-active.
