The certification body has the ultimate responsibility for reviewing and verifying corrective actions after an audit.

ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 Clause 9.4.9 states: “The certification body shall review the correction, cause analysis, and corrective actions proposed by the client.”

Although the audit team may assist, responsibility lies with the certification body for ensuring compliance before issuing or maintaining certification.
