Public transit service is evaluated primarily through the number of qualifying regularly scheduled transit trips available to project occupants. Both weekday and weekend service can affect the applicable performance threshold because LEED evaluates whether transit provides practical and recurring transportation access rather than merely being geographically nearby. Safe walking routes remain important when establishing the walking distance between the project entrance and qualifying transit stops, but sidewalk availability alone does not establish the required service level. A private on-site shuttle may support connectivity, but its frequency is not automatically substituted for the scheduled public transit service used under Path 1.
