Life Cycle Manager provides automatic dependency management and a one-click update workflow for supported Nutanix software and hardware firmware. LCM inventories the environment, identifies installed component versions, retrieves compatible update metadata, and evaluates dependencies between components before permitting an upgrade. This prevents administrators from manually determining the correct order for related AOS, AHV, NCC, Foundation, firmware, and platform updates.
Nutanix describes the LCM workflow as a one-click update because administrators can select eligible components and initiate an orchestrated upgrade through Prism. LCM then performs prechecks, stages packages, applies updates in the necessary sequence, and coordinates node maintenance while preserving cluster availability where supported.
A general rollback to the previous software or firmware version is not an LCM feature. Upgrades should therefore be treated as forward-moving maintenance operations that require validated backups, health checks, and compatibility review. Although LCM supports numerous qualified hardware platforms, option C is not the core feature being tested. Platform support depends on the hardware vendor, model, firmware bundle, and Nutanix compatibility requirements; it is not an unrestricted multi-platform update function.
