Therefore, the project manager should understand the project success criteria and objectives first, before performing any other actions, to ensure that the project is aligned with the customer’s or sponsor’s expectations and requirements. The project success criteria and objectives are typically documented in the project charter, which is the key output of the Develop Project Charter process. The project charter also contains other information, such as the project purpose, scope, assumptions, constraints, risks, and stakeholders, that the project manager should review and understand. References:
